Question1…Can we meet you?

Am Monsurdeen Abiola and popularly known as Omoluabi MaDream 4pmy

Question2…Where did you grow up?

I was born in ibadan, oyo state, but I am a native of osun state, Ede precisely.

Question3…When and why did you start music?

I started music in 2004 and the main reason why  i start music was because i got the influenced from my past friend Shanko Rasheed who is fuji Musician, and i felt i can always do what he is doing and even more better.

Question4…What is your musical background?

I have a little bit of a music background I would say. I played alto-saxophone from fourth grade until I was a freshman in high school. I also took a few piano classes as well. I’ve been in love with music since I was a child, but it was more so my own curiosity rather than it being pushed on me by my mother. My mom played clarinet when she was in school so she plays a big role in encouraging me, but it was really j my own curiosity into music that got me started. Music basically pushed itself on me.

Question5…What does it feel like to be a hip hop artiste in Nigeria at the moment?

At the moment, for me, it is mixed. There are days when I am proud to be one. Days when I see flashes of hope and feel like am not doing this again. Days when many fans are excited about my new hip hop project or about a really good verse of rap that i just dropped on a song. There are also times when it is absolutely frustrating. Times when I sit down and realise that i really do not have any major concerts and that i have no award shows strictly meant to honour me, but to be realistic, for now it is discouraging but i hope that soon enough the fans will learn to appreciate the diversity in Hip hop and will also start to gain from it sooner.

Before we go further, can you give us a freestyle???

Yes! that is my job
freestyleeee OK!!!

This is the time for me to think about my life,
Boys are so wicked they kill and survive,They collect someone money with gun and knife,
They no ready 2 work & they want become a chief,
Yeah…When there’s life there’s hope
When there’s earth there’s globe
When there’s kerosene there’s stove
When there’s level Boi get scope
😃 😃 😃 lolssssss Wow nice one (dream)…

Question6..What do you hate most about the industry?

Hate is a strong word but I can’t say it isn’t appropriate. I hate the lies, yes and also what i hate most is listening to music and get to know that it has no meaning or message to pass. i hate it.

Question7…Musically, what are your biggest influences and who are your favorite musicians?

Musically, my biggest influence has to be music in general. I love sound and I enjoy witnessing or participating in a concert. I love to see the reaction people get when they hear my songs that they love. That reaction is my biggest musical influence. and my favorite music is Ayinla omowura, Yusuf Olatunji, Orlando owo, lil wayne, Mr P, Brymo, Asa and Burna boy, also 9ice.I’m more so influenced by great thinkers and writers when it comes to my music.

Question8…How would you describe your own style?

I guess I would say that I’m different in the sense that I’m more of a Motivational Singer. I touch a lot on spirituality in my rhymes, but not in a religious sense though. I’m not a gospel singer by any means, but I do discuss the soul a lot.  I’m a self-conscious rapper/singer.  A lot of my songs are serious in nature, but I have a lot of music with a lot of different feelings for each song. So I would describe my style as diverse, poetic, and original. I like to take a lot of risks with the things that I say, the way that I say them and the beats that I use.

Question9…Who do you collaborate with?

I have not really collaborate with any artists for now.

Question10…In what ways has your newest music changed from when you first started?

I’ve just improved all around. I’ve worked on my mixing, my songwriting and just myself as a person. When I first started I just wanted to make music, but I didn’t know much about anything so I made what I heard other singers making. The music has changed, but it’s because the lifestyle and thinking behind the music has changed drastically as well.

Question11… What are the main inspirations for the lyrics you write?

Its is Easy. God, after God he is still the one. Which is EVERYTHING.

Question12… Have you been in competitions?  Any prizes?

Question13… What would be your dream venue in which to perform? That’s a good question. well i have been performing live in ibadan and other places but where i will Probably like to have a performance is at #Felabration, Mtn project fame, and #Olamide’s OLIC. That would be my dream venue. I think that would be pretty sweet.

Question14…What advice would you give other hip-hop artistes?

I’m no expert in the game and I’m not accomplished yet so I can’t exactly dish out advice to everyone. I would however like to address the newbies
•They should try and work very hard even harder meanwhile, should know what you are doing. •Don’t sign agreements without doing proper research about the business and legal components of the industry, i think you should learned from the mistake Kiss Daniel and oladips made.
• Don’t get carried away by men in suits, offering you the whole world and promising you the platform you need. Sometimes when it shines too bright, it blinds you.
• Stay humble but don’t let anybody understate your value.
•.Regardless of opinions, focus on your hustle. God got you.

Reactions as Obasanjo asks Aisha Buhari to tell President the truth about insecurity

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has supported recent concerns raised by the wife of President Muhammadu Buhari , Aisha, on insecurity and other challenges facing the country.

Obasanjo , however , advised her to engage her husband in what he called “ pillow talk” on the state of the nation.
The former President , according to a statement by his media aide, Kehinde Akinyemi , said this while playing host to the members of the Editorial Board of a Social media platform , Penpushing Media at his Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library Boardroom.

Some groups including the Ohanaeze Ndigbo and the Yoruba socio- political group , Afenifere , have however said Obasanjo was right to call on Aisha to tell her husband the truth.

The President ’ s wife, Aisha, had last week renewed her criticisms of the Federal Government’ s programmes .
She had also faulted the social investment programmes of her husband ’ s administration , saying there was no evidence to show that the funds allocated were judiciously utilised .

Mrs Buhari had said , “ I am sure that my husband decided to put somebody from Kano because of the population and political impact it made . ”
She said she discovered that key aspects of the programme were not properly implemented in Adamawa and Kano states .
Mrs Buhari , “So , I don ’ t know where the social investment was successful , maybe it worked out in some states . In my own state , only a local government benefitted out of the 22 .

“ I did not ask what happened and I do not want to know but for it to fail woefully in Kano, it is not a good sign and it is not a good thing . ”

Also on Saturday, she challenged security agencies to quickly end banditry and other insecurity challenges in the country .
“ The security agents should either assist to take action or allow the situation continues until bandits finish killing our people, ” she had said .

But on Monday Obasanjo said it was good that the wife of the President raised the concerns.
He urged Aisha to engage her spouse in a “ pillow talk” to inform him about the true position of the state of the nation.
The former President commended Mrs Buhari for her courage to speak out on the state of the nation.

Obasanjo advised the wife of President to adopt the bedroom approach to get her husband ’ s attention on the challenges in the country.
He said , “ We have to put all things on the table to address these problems . Mind you , we have to be sincere and genuine with ourselves . It is nice that the President ’ s wife is talking ; I think she did well , and maybe she should also have a pillow talk with the President .

“ I believe every Nigerian family , individual , group is entitled to livelihood . It is the responsibility of all to make sure we have a dignified life . That should be our aim collectively . ”
The statement added that the former President advocated increased sensitization to get the desired change Nigerians were yearning for .

Earlier in her speech , the Chairman , Editorial Board of the organisation , Mrs Funke Fadugba , was reported to have said that the visit was to brief the former President about the 3 rd anniversary lecture of the organisation scheduled to hold on July 19 .

Obasanjo is right – Ohanaeze
Meanwhile , the Deputy Publicity Secretary of Ohanaeze , Chuks Ibegbu , who spoke with The PUNCH , described Aisha Buhari as a patriot and a kind -hearted first lady .
He added , “ She should force or cajole Buhari , her husband to the other room with pillow so they can have useful talks to address our challenges .

“ Obasanjo is right . We live in a stone age here , even Rwanda and Chad are better than us now. ”
Also Chief Emeka Attama , the Media Advisor to the President – General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Nnia Nwodo , said President Buhari appeared not to be in charge of his government , adding had he been in control he would have known that the government intervention programmes were not reaching the right people.
“ Recently , the President commented that the level of poverty in the country was too high , that Nigerians were suffering . Mr President seems not to be in charge as to know what is happening in different parts of this country because if he knew he would have known that the intervention programmes of the Federal Government was not really reaching the right people.

“ However , Obasanjo is very correct , if it only requires the wife to engage Buhari in a bedroom chat to be able to address this , so be it. ”
Aisha expressing frustration, says Afenifere
On its part, Afenifere said the President ’ s wife was right to express her frustrations on the situations in the country, despite being told by the President that her place was in the bedroom and the kitchen .

The Afenifere Publicity Secretary , Yinka Odumakin, said , “ One of the times Aisha spoke , the President said that her place was in the other room , and not in the political arena . So , I think, like every Nigerian , she goes to the social media to vent her frustrations and give her views.

“ The former President , Olusegun Obasanjo , was throwing a funny one . If Aisha was told to remain in the other room and the kitchen , then the option is a pillow talk. But there is no doubt that the situation in the country is raising concerns for every rational Nigerian . This is why the First Lady too is venting her frustrations. ”
We won ’t take issue with Obasanjo – ACF
But the Arewa Consultative Forum said it would not take issue with Obasanjo over his advice to the President ’ s wife .

When contacted on the telephone on the northern body ’ s take on Obasanjo ’ s advice to Aisha, the National Publicity Secretary of the ACF, Alhaji Muhammad Ibrahim – Biu , said , “We do not want to take issue with Chief Obasanjo over his counsel to Mrs Aisha Buhari on the PMB ’ s administration .

I would have ended my 10-year relationship earlier if I was more experienced – Ayo Adesanya

Actress , Ayo Adesanya , has said there is nothing worth committing suicide over . She was speaking on the backdrop of growing suicide rates in the country. She told Sunday Scoop, “ Nothing in life is worth committing suicide over .

It is said that when there is life , there is hope . For most people who reached that bridge of almost taking their lives , they eventually thank God that they did not take that plunge . The only thing that is constant is change . You may not have today , but you would have tomorrow .

“ When it comes to people in unhappy marriages saying they want to commit suicide , I don ’ t subscribe to it. If you are not happy in your marriage , the best thing to do is get out of it. However , it is a bit unfortunate that these days, we are no longer as tolerant as our parents before us . Maybe because of the advent of social media , things travel so fast , and we no longer tolerate each other .

There are a lot of things that can be overlooked but these days , it doesn ’ t happen like that . Nobody wants to take the pain to be in a marriage or relationship and stick with their partner ’ s shortcomings .

“ At some point in life, I got entangled with somebody. Maybe if I had taken the warning signs seriously, I possibly would have got out of that relationship earlier . I was possibly a bit naïve because I thought the person would change . I never told my mum some things , and maybe she would have advised me properly.

Maybe a support group could have advised me that if I saw some telltale signs , I should run , or not even get into it in the first place.
“ Talking about domestic violence in marriage , it always starts with a tap . If I was experienced , I probably wouldn ’ t have got into that relationship . I tried to make it work and for 10 years , I stayed .

When I realised that it would not end well if I didn ’ t sever ties with the said person , I had to leave the relationship . I think it’ s always better to be with someone we can tolerate their shortcomings .

“ However , even with the alarming rate of divorce , there are still people who are salvaging their marriages and making it work. As long as it is not life – threatening , I believe you should still try and make it work because at the end of the day , love is all that matters. ”

Adesanya also stated that celebrities were also humans who could be depressed. She said , “ At the end of the day , an entertainer is still human . I believe depression is a point that any human being can get to in life. It depends on the way life deals with you . I think I must have been to that point sometime , but I always try not to go that deep because I ’ m a Christian . When I feel depressed, I go to church and listen to sermons and it works for me all the time . I know that once I sit in church , there will always be a message for me . ”

Dariye’s pay rises to N171m in prison

A former Governor of Plateau State , Senator Joshua Dariye, continues to receive the N 750, 000 salary and N13 . 5 m monthly running cost from the National Assembly , 11 months after his conviction by a Federal Capital Territory High Court , SUNDAY PUNCH can report .

This implies that his total earnings have risen from N85 . 5 m in November last year to N171 . 1 m in May.

The sum is separate from a severance package he is supposed to receive as an outgoing member of the National Assembly .
The payment to the account of the convicted lawmaker has continued despite a lawsuit filed by the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project before a Federal High Court in Lagos to “ stop the Senate President Bukola Saraki from paying former Plateau State governor, Senator Joshua Dariye, N14 . 2 million monthly allowances while he serves out a 10 -year prison sentence for corruption because such payment violates Nigerian law and international obligations .

Investigations by SUNDAY PUNCH showed that Dariye , who represents Plateau Central Senatorial District , still received the allowances because his seat had yet to be declared vacant by the leadership of the National Assembly .

The senator, who served as governor of Plateau from 1999 to 2007 , was prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and convicted by Justice Adebukola Banjoko of a FCT High Court for embezzling N1 . 162bn .

He was subsequently sentenced to 14 years in prison, but his sentence was reduced to 10 years by the Court of Appeal which upheld his conviction last month .

The Director of Information at the National Assembly , Mr Agada Rawlings, in an interview with our correspondent , explained that constitutionally , Dariye could not be denied the payments .
Rawlings said , “ The point there is that his seat has not been declared vacant . You ’ re looking at the moral side of it but we are looking at the constitutional side. There are two issues that are at stake . Dariye, as of today , is still a senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria . He has not been recalled.

“ Secondly, INEC has not declared his seat vacant . As the management of the National Assembly , we do not have such powers to do anything otherwise until the law speaks otherwise .

“ So , it’ s not for us as the management to decide who stays and who does not stay . The law on that is clear . The only constitutional provision to declare a seat vacant is on the basis of recall or death of a member . ”

He noted that some courts had given judgment , saying, even upon suspension by the rules of the house , if certain procedures were not met , such actions were deemed to be void .

“ But in this particular instance , there is a moral burden , but if there is no law that states that he has been barred as a result of the judgement and the court in this judgement did not say his position at the Senate of the Federal Republic ( had) lapsed , ” Rawlings added
