21-year-old office worker was holding a gun to her temple while taking a selfie and accidentally pulled the trigger, according to RIA Novosti, Russia’s state news agency.
She was rushed to Sklifosovsky hospital in Moscow where she is receiving special treatment for the wound.
Police are now investigating how the woman got hold of the gun, according to a local police spokesman.
Russian news agencies are suggesting a security guard in the building had left the 9mm pistol in the office before jetting off on holiday.
Last week a Romanian teenager died after attempting to take the “ultimate selfie” on top of a train.
18yr old Anna Ursu, was killed when her leg reportedly touched a live wire above the train which sent 27,000 volts through her body.
Another 21yr old, Mohammed Aslam Shahul, died on Saturday after falling into the sea while trying to take a selfie at the top of a cliff in Singapore.
His body was later found five meters under the water below.
