PHOTOS: POLICE BREAK INTO CAR TO RESCUE ‘FROZEN’ WOMAN, FIND SOMETHING EXTRAORDINARY

On Friday morning, an “upset” caller spoke to the US police to report a woman who had “frozen to death” in Hudson, New York state.

What happened was night time in the northern clutches of the US has been quite chilly as temperatures have been dropping to around -13 degrees.
Officers responded to the 911 call, rolled up to a vehicle, covered in frost and snow, and saw what appeared to be a woman trapped inside. The figure pictured above was seat-belted up, seemingly dead, while wearing an oxygen mask.
So the Hudson Police Department broke into the vehicle to get to her.
Only for the ‘woman’ to turn out to be a mannequin. The owner said it he used it as a medical training
aid and was a bit upset that his car had been smashed up.

To be fair to the caller who spotted it, the mannequin was extremely realistic. She was wearing real clothing, glasses, shoes, teeth. She even had skin blemishes. Her hair looked real too.
When the Hudson Police Department tracked the owner down, he complained about the drastic action.
MirrorUK reports police chief L Edward Moore said in a statement to local news station Wavy:

“It is my understanding that the owner was incredulous that we took action in this matter. He apparently was quite vocal and vulgar to my sergeant.

“Just to clear the record, all citizens of Hudson should be put on notice that if you park your locked vehicle on the street on a sub-zero night with a life-size realistic mannequin seated in it… we will break your window.”Chief Moore told mannequin owners to be a bit more careful. No charges were filed.

Hunger would have killed me if I didn’t learn how to rob – Suspect

An armed robbery suspect, Saheed Olanrewaju, on Wednesday said a friend of his taught him how to rob because he was about to die of hunger.

According to the 39-year-old suspect, his friend, a man he called “SV” introduced him to the life of crime he led until he was nabbed by officers of the Kwara State Police Command, to “save him”.

Olanrewaju, a native of Sagamu, was paraded by the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr.Olusola Amore, in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.

“I met SV in Taiwo area in Ilorin when he taught me how to rob. I regret my action now, but it was hunger that turned me into a robber. I had been starving for long and I realised robbery was the only source of daily bread at the time. If I am eventually freed today, I will never venture into crime again,” Olanrewaju said.

The CP said one of the victims of Olanrewaju’s gang, one Abdulateef Abolaji, was sleeping at home with his family at Budo area of Italepa in Ilorin, when he was attacked.

Amore said the robbers dispossessed Abolaji and others in the house of cash, mobile phones and jewellery. But an investigation into the attack later led the Special  Anti-Robbery Squad of the command to the arrest of Olanrewaju.

Amore said one locally made pistol was recovered from the suspect, noting that efforts were on to arrest Olanrewaju’s accomplices who are at large. He added that the suspects would be charged to court on completion of investigations.

MUSIC: Teyo – “My Style”

image

The vocal stylist at it again, yet with another sweet song which is mind-blowing, but this time he has gone through the deeps of his heart to bring alive this amazing masterpiece that talks about love and the way it is expressed by different couples.

I hear that this song can rekindle any flame of lost love, can send hate away to a forgotten forest would make you feel that the world was made just for the two of you. I don’t know what this young man is up to, Valentine’s Day is still really far. We should not forget that this is still a weather for two (people from the north please).

Artistes Offer Cash/Free Performance For Awards – Brymo Slams Award Bodies In New Interview

Singer Brymo, is known for his soul searching sound, a sound, many Nigerians have come to love.

The singer, who sat down for an interview with Cablenews, touched on several topics to include his the music industry, his music, getting recognition, amongst many other topics.

Speaking on the music industry and the way it affects the music business generally, Brymo said:

“The music industry is very flawed……The industry itself is set up in such a way that the music can barely make that much money for the musicians so fame is being used as the medium to generate income for artists.

The ‘Alajo Somolu’ crooner, went further stating for a fact that music alone, is not enough to generate a handsome income for artistes.

“So because you’re really really famous, you can then align with some corporate bodies, firms, government agencies and do something for them and then they pay you.”

On his music:

”I am an artist first before I’m a businessman. So the passion and drive to create music like great people I used to listen to when I was younger, that is what’s pushing me”

“And every single time I grab a pen to write a song, I’m trying to write a song that’s better than the song I wrote before. So that ideology sort of creates a behavioral pattern for me that I must constantly adhere to.”

There are issues with how much the albums are sold for. There are issues with how royalties are being collated and paid.

“And then there are like a thousand and one artists. So there is so much availability of the goods that the good then loses value. So if I cannot buy from you, I’ll buy from him.

“So there is really very little value attached to the musicians now. But people still really love music but there are so many options now. So I feel like it’s a complication of a lot of things.”

On getting recognition [accolades] fro his music. Brymo had this to say:

“I do not think that Brymo is not getting as much accolade as he should get”.

“Brymo is getting exactly what Brymo should be getting now because if Brymo were to get more, then the award guys will not make money anymore.”

“If somebody (the artist) is offering you (the award body) cash and will give you free performance at your event, would you rather not give them the award?” he asked.

“Than give it to me who sits in my house and just write songs and just smoke weed. So you’d rather give somebody who came to you and said ‘I need this award, it’s important to my career’.

“So it’s a complication. And then the awards, they make artists look bigger. So for some artists, the award will make them become a-list.

“So if they have to do something for free for the award body, if they have to go there and even invest money in it, they will have to so they can get what they want from it. It has become their own business strategy.”

“As far as I’m concerned I’m getting exactly what is due to me and people must understand that what is due to me has actually improved over the years.

“So I feel like over time things will only get better. So if anybody is feeling like Brymo is not getting as much as he should, I beg them to please calm down. There’s no problem.

“Let’s keep moving forward. I think progress is more important. Success is actually not a destination, it’s a journey”
