Nanny Flees After Stealing And Stabbing Boss To Death In Asokoro, Abuja

A nanny, Johnson Becky, has been accused of killing her boss, Yemisi Hassz and carting away valuables at their home in the Asokoro Area of Abuja.

Yemisi’s friend, Ruby Galore, who shared the sad news on IG, had a telephone interview with LIB this evening where she said the unfortunate incident happened on the 23rd of September 2018 at the Asokoro area of Abuja.

While narrating the incident, Ruby said
”My friend is married to an Isrealite and her husband is not always around. She lives in the house with her daughter and the maid, Johnson Becky, as well as the security guards.
On the day of the incident, Becky after attacking her, locked her inside with her daughter, packed some of her valuables and went out of the house in search of a taxi man at about 11pm. No one knows the reason for the attack.
When she returned, she told the security guards that she was traveling to her village and needed to pack her things. The guards stopped her from moving out, insisting that Yemisi did not inform them she was traveling. They tried calling her phones but there was no response.

Becky then told the guards that she wanted to go into the car to pick up her other phone so she can call Madam. That was how she fled and has not been seen till date. The next day, Yemisi’s husband instructed the security guards to break the door and enter the house. That was when they found her in the pool of her blood with stab wounds all over her body”.Galore said the case was reported to the police and investigation has commenced. Becky, from Akwa Ibom state, who has been with the couple for some time, had travelled out of the country with them a few times. There are fears that she might flee the country and evade justice for her alleged act.

Yemisi was buried last Wednesday at Apo cemetery.

Sanwo-Olu formally declares ambition, PDP reiterates offer to Ambode

Babajide Sanwo – Olu, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode ’ s main contender, on Sunday declared his intention to vie for the Lagos State governorship ticket of the All Progressives Party, promising to restore the glory of Lagos State .

The former Lagos State Commissioner for Establishments, Training and Pension , who spoke at the City Hall on Lagos Island on Sunday, stated that he would consolidate on the feats of the builders of modern Lagos if given the chance to govern the state

Sanwo- Olu came into reckoning last Tuesday after he obtained the state governorship form .

He was immediately backed by the APC powerful Mandate Movement in Lagos , led by a national leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

The chairmen of the 57 councils in the state followed suit by declaring support for Sanwo- Olu.
Sanwo- Olu, at the Sunday event , said since 1922 when the first election was decreed in Lagos , the history of the state had been shaped by “ various democratisations and climaxes of Lagosians ” on those who ruled them .
The aspirant said the contest for who governed the state threw up great men like Herbert Macaulay, Akintoye Ajasa and Dr Adeniyi Jones.

Sanwo- Olu said , “ If elected , I shall immediately embark on full restoration of the glory of the state and make the people the cornerstone of government .
“ I will restore the environment that has become the source of serious anxiety to Lagosians . I will relieve residents of the state the persistent gridlock that has made life brutish for all of us .

“ Our government ’ s focal point shall be to provide the greatest good for the greatest number of the people of Lagos State . I have invited you all here to join me in this journey to take Lagos to a new dimension by transforming the manifesto of our party into the programme of action. ”

He further said there was no way to review the history of Lagos without recognising the contributions of Brig . Mobolaji Johnson , who was the first governor of the state, and Pa Lateef Jakande , the first civilian governor of the state.

“ Modern Lagos , since the inception of this administration, is blessed with innovators and visionary leaders . And that is why I must recognise the man that led the modernisation of Lagos , a celebrated tactician and national leader of the APC , Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

“ The press has planted in the hearts of everyone the courage displayed by our national leader in reforming revenue collection in the state, the conversion of government operation from analog to digital and the establishment of a transparent system of running Lagos as a smart city .

“ This vision put together by eminent Lagosians prepared our state for the challenges ahead .

“ I declare that I shall be a true party man in the real definition of the words and in running an inclusive government according to the ideology of the APC.
“ Loyalty in my view is the currency of politics. I shall be loyal to the people of the state and the leadership of the party. ”
Members of the National Assembly from the state attended the event , including Senator Gbenga Ashafa , Jimi Benson ( Ikorodu federal constituency) , Jide Akinloye ( Eti -Osa ) , Rotimi Agunsoye ( Kosofe ) Joseph Bamgbose ( Badagry ) and James Faleke ( Ikeja) .
Others were party leaders such as Cardinal James Odunmbaku , Demola Seriki , Chief Kaoli Olusanya , Dr Tola Kasali and Omolola Essien , the chairman of Lagos Mainland Local Government area and chairman of Conference 57; the group for all the council chairmen in the state
We’ ll readily welcome Ambode , says PDP
Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party has said the party will readily welcome Ambode if he joins it .

The Publicity Secretary of the PDP in Lagos , Taofik Gani , said , “ I cannot confirm if Mr Femi Otedola has joined us or has been given a nomination form to contest. Although strong leaders behind his team are working towards that , but it is not something that is official yet.

“ But the Lagos PDP will be happy to welcome Femi Otedola who is an established businessman. He will definitely be a political asset for us as we want to win in 2019.

“ Also , we are ready to accommodate anybody as long as that person is going to add to our interest and that is me confirming to you that we will readily welcome Governor Ambode if he is sent packing by the APC.

“ Any member of the party that is against us having somebody join the party is an enemy of the party. No matter what interest you may have , you will not let that selfish interest override the general interest .

“ Hon. Jimi Agbaje came into the party when he was seriously opposed , he was lucky to get the governorship ticket . This is not to say that I ’ m concluding that we are going to give anybody who comes in now the ticket . We are going to provide a level playing field for everybody to participate .

“ What I can tell you now is that the political structure of the PDP is bigger than what the APC has . The PDP has been at the national level for 16 years ; even though APC has been controlling Lagos , we do have our numbers and structures . With the structure we have , if we have somebody like Ambode , it will be a 100 per cent victory . ”

People said we stage-managed our child’s abduction –Parents of lost but found four-year-old Elo

In this interview with Afeez Hanafi, the parents of abducted four- year -old Elo Ogidi found in an orphanage in Edo State , shared their bittersweet experience
The father : Afokoghene Ogidi
What was your experience during the period your child was abducted?
You cannot imagine the trauma, the horror, terror, the devastation and the fear of the unknown.

I could not work . Some fraudsters would call me and threaten to kill my child . Some asked for N 2m , others demanded between N 10m and N 20m . There was one that called me recently . He talked as if he had information about Elo ’ s whereabouts .

I sent N 10, 000 into an account he forwarded to me. Two days after, he called again and said he had not seen the money. He threatened to abandon my baby in a camp he and his gang members took her to . I asked him to send me another account number and I sent another N 5, 000 to him . He collected N 20, 000 altogether and kept asking for more . Meanwhile, all the while, I was giving the police information about him .

When I noticed there was not result , I stopped sending money.
Were the police able to arrest the fraudster ?
No . But they were able to arrest three people around the area where he was calling from . One of those arrested used to work in the church ( Christ Embassy) as a cleaner. He was the one that gave the information to the gang.
How did you receiv

e the news of your child ’ s recovery ?
I was in Ghana when a lady called me from Benin ( Edo State ) . She asked if I was the father of a missing child . I said yes. She said she wanted to send some pictures to me and asked if my number was on
WhatsApp. I said yes . I saw a notification that the pictures had come in, but I did not want to open it with the fear that it might not be my child because I had earlier received pictures of missing children from people several times .

She started sending me messages, asking if I had checked the pictures . I braced up and opened the pictures . I was so surprised that I thought it was just an imagination . I asked myself , ‘ could this be the girl I had been looking for ?’ We were four that went to Ghana.

I gave my phone to my colleagues to identify the person in the pictures . They said it was my daughter . I shouted. I kept asking them if they were sure it was my daughter . They said yes .

All the while , I did not respond to the girl’ s messages . It was after getting a confirmation from my colleagues that I asked the lady where she saw her. She said she saw her at God ’ s Own Orphanage on Siluko Road in Benin City , Edo State .

What did you do next ?
I alerted the police in Nigeria . We were already preparing to return to Nigeria . One hour in the plane seemed like a week . I could not wait to break the news. My wife together with Elo ’ s elder sister was waiting for me at the Lagos airport to pick me up. I showed my daughter the same picture and asked her who was there . She said Elo . I shouted and said to myself, ‘ if the six- year- old can identify her sister , then Elo indeed has been found .

That was when I broke the news to my wife . By the time we got to Nigeria , I got a message that Elo had been picked up at the orphanage and the owner arrested.

Some people are saying the whole incident was stage – managed and that I was looking for fame because the story was everywhere. My prayer for anyone who says so is that the person will experience the trauma, the fears, and the pains I went through which I have yet to fully recover from in seven folds.
The mother : Rita- Soul Ogidi
What did the period of Elo ’ s missing look like?

It was not easy at all . I felt helpless and hopeless . I felt like I should take my life. I had so many terrible feelings because of the fact that my child was somewhere and I did not know what was happening to her. It was God that strengthened me and with relentless prayers . Maybe by now I would have been in a hospital . It was God that kept me . It is not something I pray for my enemy to experience. I could not sleep . I had to be taking sleeping pills so that I could have some sleep . So , it is annoying to hear that we stage – managed the whole thing. Whoever thinks so will experience the same thing.

What were your feelings when you heard Elo had been found ?
Oh my God ( she exclaimed )! I was just crying . I shed tears of joy. I asked myself if it was true. It was too good to be true. I did not know what to say . I was just shouting and crying . That moment was so precious . It is something I will never forget .

The fears , the pains disappeared immediately I saw my child again . I am very happy now and my joy is full to see all my three children running up and down around me.

Did Elo share her experience being with strangers with you ?
Yes, but she did not say much . She described how she was tortured with a belt. She brought out a belt and described how they used it to whip her. How they told her to shut up.

What changes did you notice in her appearance and attitude?
When I saw my child, she was dehydrated and sick . There are some marks on her body .

But she is fine now . She is sleeping and eating more. She is too excited to see the family again . She is always playing . We have to force her to sleep . But now , when she sees you and does not know you , she runs away. She is now avoiding strangers , whereas she used to be a very friendly person .

Even when her siblings were trying to pull away from strangers , she would run to the persons. She was very sociable . She was a type of child that if you took her somewhere, everybody would notice her because she was very playful . But now , she is very careful . We are still taking time to observe her.
